Rose Ann Oglesby, 85, of Mount Vernon, Illinois passed away at 4:15 P.M. March 24, 2018 at her residence. She was born January 1, 1933 in Decatur, Illinois to the late Clarence E. and Nelle (Walker) Rogers. Rose married Carl R. "Dick" Oglesby on September 5, 1953 in Atwood, Illinois. They were blessed with 42 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on April 29, 1996.

She is survived by her sons, Roger Oglesby and wife, Kathy of Texico, Illinois, and Carl Scott Oglesby of Mount Vernon, Illinois; daughter-in-law, Susan Oglesby of Mount Vernon, Illinois; grandsons, Jason Oglesby and wife, Abby of Troy, Illinois, Chris Oglesby and wife, Emily of Bluford, Illinois, Jacob Oglesby and wife, Shannon of Dix, Illinois, and Jerod Oglesby of Mount Vernon, Illinois; great grandchildren, Kimber Oglesby, Penny Oglesby, Lydia Oglesby, Wyatt Oglesby, Elizabeth Oglesby, and Kimmy Oglesby; brother, Louis Rogers of Bloomington, Illinois; and nieces, Valerie Quinn and Ann Handley

Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence E. and Nelle (Walker) Rogers; husband, Carl R. “Dick” Oglesby; son, Kim Richard ‘Red’ Oglesby; brother, Johnny Rogers; and nephew, John Rogers.

She was a member of Central Christian Church. Rose was a devote Christian and involved with meals on wheels. She was an avid sports fan, especially for the Saint Louis Cardinals. She also played in various bridge clubs and will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
