Robert Keith McCutcheon, 75, of Mount Vernon, Illinois passed away at 1:22 P.M. September 4, 2019 at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon. He was born December 21, 1943 in Herrin, Illinois to the late Robert B. and Sybil Marie (Owens) McCutcheon.
Robert is survived by his special friend, Janice Hamerski of Mount Vernon; two sons, Robert Troy McCutcheon of Indianapolis, Indiana and Raymond Todd McCutcheon and wife, Megan of Delaware, Ohio; daughter, Emily Terry and fiancé, Andy Lock of Indianapolis, Indiana; and five grandchildren, Noah McCutcheon, Carson, Lauren, and Rylan Terry, and Edrena McCutcheon; and one nephew Greg McCutcheon and wife, Diana.
In addition to his parents, Mr. McCutcheon was preceded in death by his brother, Phil McCutcheon.
Robert proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He worked as the Assistant Vice President of Good Samaritan Hospital until retiring, and then worked in in-home physical therapy. He was a member of the Mount Vernon American Legion Post #141 and the Mount Vernon Gun and Sportsman’s Club. He was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
A Visitation will be held 12:00 to 1:00 P.M. Saturday, September 7, 2019 at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens Chapel in Woodlawn. A Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 P.M. Saturday at the Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens Chapel with Chaplain Ernie Collins officiating. Entombment will follow and members of the Mount Vernon American Legion Post #141 will conduct Full Military Honors. A Celebration of Life will continue at 2:30 P.M. at the Mount Vernon Gun and Sportsman’s Club following all services at the cemetery.
