Rita Eilene Vaught, 71, of Mount Vernon, Illinois passed away at 8:15 P.M. November 16, 2018 at White Oak Rehabilitation Center. She was born March 4, 1947 in Centralia, Illinois to the late S. Gale and L. Marie (Gentle) Bourland.
Rita is survived by her daughter, Stacy Giacoma of Sea Tac, Washington; grandchildren, Zoe Giacoma of Carbondale, Illinois, and Taylor Giacoma, John Giacoma, and Daniel Giacoma, all of Sea Tac, Washington; brother, Don Bourland and wife, Evelyn of Albuquerque, New Mexico; twin sister, Nita Cates of Mount Vernon, Illinois; nieces and nephew, Kristen Stewart and husband, Tony, Caroline Bourland and husband, Bob Donis, and Robert Cates; and great-nieces, Sophia Stewart and Nora Stewart.
In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by her former husband, John Daniel Vaught; and nephews, Eric Cates and Randy Cates.
Rita worked as a receptionist in the radiology department at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital and attended Central Christian Church in Mount Vernon. She enjoyed traveling, but most of all, she loved the times she spent with her family. Rita was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
Memorial Services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made in Rita’s honor to the Hope Lodge in Saint Louis, Missouri.
