Pauline Ferne Wilson, 86, of Mount Vernon, Illinois passed away at 1:27 A.M. August 1, 2018 at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon. She was born February 17, 1932 in Mount Vernon to the late John W. and Julia E. (Boles) Miller. Pauline first married Lugene Smith, and she later married Murell Wilson. They both preceded her in death.
Pauline is survived by her children, Alson Smith of Mount Vernon, Dennis Smith of Mount Vernon, Phyllis Bopp and husband, Robert of La Place, Illinois, and Linda Smith of Mount Vernon; grandchildren, Ashlea Bopp, Shawn Smith, Blake Smith, Kyle Smith, Greg Dodson, Heather Kirkpatrick, Jeffrey Kirkpatrick, Melissa Lorch, and Michelle Chrum; several great-grandchildren; siblings, Kenny Miller and wife, Sharon of Bridgeton, Missouri, Norma Tate of Dix, Illinois, and Marian Wilson of Deltona, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husbands and parents, Pauline was preceded in death by her children, Judy Askew and Rodney Allen Smith; and sisters, Betty Smith and Verla Bodine.
Pauline was a member of Harlan Church of God. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
A Visitation will be held Saturday, August 4, 2018 from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Corey Hall and Pastor Jon Green officiating. Interment will follow at Sursa Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Illinois. Memorials may be made in Pauline’s honor to the Wilson Family, in care of Dennis Smith.
