Paul Raymond Edwards, of Texico, Illinois, passed away at the age of 77 on Sunday, August 25, 2019 at Friendship Manor in Nashville, Illinois.
Paul was born on April 18, 1942 to James David Edwards and Elizabeth Rhea Edwards. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Edwards after forty-eight years of marriage.
Other survivors include a daughter, Beth Ann and husband, Ken Gill of Newport News, Virginia; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Louise Burgess; brother, Clyde Edwards and wife, Mary; and many relatives and close friends.
Paul was preceded in death by his father, James David Edwards; mother, Elizabeth Rhea Edwards; and two sons, Paul David and Timothy Ray Edwards.
Paul and Charlotte lived in several cities including Lebanon, Illinois and Milstadt, Illinois. They moved to Texico, Illinois fifteen years ago where they enjoyed living in the country. Paul enjoyed farming, raising chickens, working on his equipment, and landscaping his beautiful property.
His religious affiliations and activities were at the center of his life and devotion. He was a strong advocate of Christian living and dedicated his life to become a living example of a true Christian. He began most of his Christian experiences in Louisville, Kentucky when he was a child. Most of his experiences included visiting and sharing his love for the Lord with Reverend William Sowders of Louisville.
Paul dedicated much of his life in the construction of religious buildings that helped to promote and direct people toward serving the Lord. This was his mission in life!
Paul devoted most of his life to promoting religious activities and helping others. Everyone who was privileged to share the joys of life and living for the Lord were truly blessed by his life and example.
Paul, we all love you and will treasure our precious memories of you all of the days of our lives!
A Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, August 30, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Thomason Cemetery with Mr. Marty Mills and Mr. Bruce Green officiating.
