Morgan Wade McKinney, 20, of Maple Hill, North Carolina passed away March 2, 2018 at Jacksonville, North Carolina. He was born May 2, 1997 in Beaufort, South Carolina to Troy Dwain and Laura Beth (Riley) McKinney.
Morgan is survived by his parents, Troy McKinney and Laura (Riley) McKinney, formerly of Bluford, Illinois, now residing in Maple Hill, North Carolina; brother, Wyatt McKinney of Maple Hill, North Carolina; great grandmother, Eunice Lane of Bluford, Illinois; maternal grandparents, Francis “Bud” and Nancy Riley of Mount Vernon, Illinois; paternal grandparents, Bruce & Patty Jackson of Bluford, Illinois, and Ron and Marsha McKinney of Ina, Illinois; aunts and uncles, Anita Riley of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Linda Riley of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Carla Harrah of Opdyke, Illinois, Trent and Bambi McKinney of Bluford, Illinois, and Trena & Lee Guerrero of Bluford, Illinois; and several cousins and other extended family members.
Morgan was preceded in death byhis great grandparents, Archie Lane, Hall and Lucille Marlow, and Homer and Flossie McKinney all of Bluford, Illinois; uncle, James Harrah of Opdyke, Illinois; and beloved dog, Triton.
Morgan graduated from Dixon High School, Holly Ridge, North Carolina in 2015 where he was a standout athlete in soccer. He attended Coastal Carolina Community College, Jacksonville, North Carolina. He was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
A Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday, March 9, 2018 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Oakdale Cemetery in Bluford, Illinois with Cliff Lindemann officiating. Interment will follow.
