Minister Marlo J. Mitchell, 51, of Mount Vernon, Illinois passed away at 5:43 A.M. July 19, 2019 at her residence. She was born June 26, 1968 in Caruthersville, Missouri to Robert Campbell and Mary Ann Dinwiddie. Marlo married Darrell K. Mitchell, Sr. on July 2, 1990 at Lively Stone Apostolic Church by Bishop Paul H. Evans. They were blessed with 29 years of marriage.
In addition to her husband, Darrell K. Mitchell, Sr., Marlo is survived by her mother, Mary Ann Williams of Mount Vernon, Illinois; father, Robert Campbell of Saginaw, Missouri; stepfather, Leonard Jackson of Joliet, Illinois; children, Latasha N. Mitchell of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Darrell K. Mitchell, Jr. of Champaign, Illinois, and Travis J. Mitchell of Saint Louis, Missouri; siblings, Fredrick Dinwiddie and wife, Beatrice of Detroit, Michigan, Angel Guinto and husband, Freddy of Duluth, Georgia, Tabatha Jackson of Atlanta, Georgia, and Chrissy Jackson of Madison, Wisconsin; grandmother, Bessie Massey of Mount Vernon, Illinois; brother-in-law, William V. Mitchell, Jr. of Texas; sisters-in-law, Linda Mitchell and Lisa Mitchell, both of Saint Louis, Missouri; and mother-in-law, Dorothy Jean Dunlap of Saint Louis, Missouri; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and many friends and saints.
Marlo was preceded in death by her brother, Leonard Adonis Jackson; grandmother, Christine Dinwiddie; grandfather, Robert Dinwiddie, Sr.; and father-in-law, William V. Mitchell, Sr.
Marlo J. Mitchell served in ministry at Lively Stone Apostolic Church in Mount Vernon for over ten years. She had a very loving, genuine, and compassionate spirit and is leaving that love with all her family and friends. Marlo will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
A Visitation will be held at 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. Saturday, July 27, 2019 at the Family Life Church in Mount Vernon, Illinois until the Funeral Service time at 12:00 P.M. Saturday, July 27, 2019 at the Family Life Church with Pastor Allen E. Rudd, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois. Memorials and donations may be made to the Mitchell family, in care of Darrell K. Mitchell, Sr.
