Mary Frances Stich, 77, of Dahlgren, Illinois passed away at 12:55 P.M. November 27, 2019 at Crossroads Community Hospital in Mount Vernon, Illinois. She was born January 15, 1942 in DuQuoin, Illinois to the late Howard O. and Frances Mary (Bidwell) Joslin. She married Alivn Lee Stich in 1977 at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church and he preceded her in death on June 30, 2004.
Mary is survived by her five children, Barry Marquis and wife, Sandy of Saco, Missouri, Pam Ford and husband, Rodney of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Stacey Maxey and husband, Leonard of Dahlgren, Illinois, Kelly Stich and wife Kathy of Dahlgren, Illinois, and Tony Stich and wife, Misty of Bonnie, Illinois; fifteen grandchildren, Eric Mullins, Autumn Cross, Shannon Marquis, Devin Rockett, Adam Ford, Rhiannon Marquis, Zeb Marquis, Mahala Ewing, Eli Marquis, Samantha Stich, Seth Stich, Klaire Stich, Adilyn Stich,Raquel Maxey, and Clinton Maxey; eleven great-grandchildren; brother, Howard Edward of Mount Vernon, Illinois; two sisters, Joann Reininger and husband, Richard of Mount Vernon, Illinois and Rose Marie Halstead and husband, Donald of Mount Vernon, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and beloved husband of twenty-seven years, Mrs. Stich was preceded in death by her grandson, Kenny Kimmel; four sisters, infant Betty Ann Joslin, Carolyn Riley, Wilma Patty, and Nellie Bartolomucci; and two brothers, Leroy Joslin and infant Franklin Gene Joslin.
Mary worked at Rockwell in Centralia as a factory worker and also as a server at Opas Restaurant. She used to sit with family, friends, and fellow church members during illness and later became a CNA, working in the Home Healthcare industry. She was a member of Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church and she loved the Lord with her whole heart. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Mary loved to travel, play BINGO, and dance. She was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
A Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Sunday, December 1, 2019 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, December 2, 2019 at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Piopolis, Illinois with Monsignor Joseph Lawler officiating. Interment will follow. Memorials may be made to the Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
