Mary Josephine Ruble, 96, of Salem, Illinois passed away at 3:37 A.M. March 6, 2019 at Doctors Nursing Home in Salem, Illinois. She was born December 3, 1922 in Jefferson County, Illinois to the late William F. Barva and Augusta Cline.
Mary is survived by her daughters, Patricia Rose Poole of Murphysboro, Illinois, Mary Deloris Roseland of Murphysboro, Illinois, Georgia Lee Ruble of Salem, Illinois, Wendelin Kay Ortiz and husband, Pete of Ohio, Tammy June Fox and husband, Garet of Salem, Illinois; son, George Kevin Ruble and wife, Bernice Ann of Cisne, Illinois; son-in-law, Kenneth Pitts of Odin, Illinois; 26 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her brother, William T. Barva; sisters, Pauline Seifred, Iris May, Donna Ann Abert and husband, Eugene; and daughter, Cynthia Jo Pitts.
Mary worked as a cook in a restaurant and was a member of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Salem, Illinois.
A Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Hughey Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 P.M. at Hughey Funeral Home with Father John Iffort officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Illinois. Memorials can be made to the M.S. Foundation and St. Louis Childrens Hospital.
