Laura Beth White, 57, of Mount Vernon, Illinois lost a long battle with cancer at 7:54 A.M. August 29, 2018 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in Saint Louis, Missouri. She was born August 10, 1961 in West Frankfort, Illinois to the late John and Loretta (Gruzeski) Tedeschi. Laura first married Douglas Whiting. After his passing, she married Bill White on January 5, 2002 in Benton, Illinois.
In addition to her husband of 16 years, Laura is survived by her children, John Whiting and wife, Taylor of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Lance White of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Deanna Whiting of Madison, Wisconsin, Lauren Kemp and husband, Corey of Antioch, Illinois, and Staci White of Mount Vernon, Illinois; grandchildren, Jaxson Whiting of Mount Vernon, Illinois and Emily Kemp of Antioch, Illinois; sisters, Marilyn Wood and husband, Ray of Dallas, Texas and Carol White of Madison, Wisconsin; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and first husband, Laura was preceded in death by her grandson, CJ Kemp; and brother, Johnny Tedeschi.
Laura worked for many years for local attorneys and later for progressive housing. She was a longtime member of Saint Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, where she served as the secretary for the Saint Mary Council of Catholic Women. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Laura was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
A Visitation will be held Monday, September 3, 2018 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Rosary will follow at 7:30 P.M. Another Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 4, 2018 from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. at Saint Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 A.M. with Father John Iffert officiating. Interment will be held at the White Family Property in Mount Vernon, Illinois. Memorials may be made in Laura’s honor to Saint Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
