Keyma Floyd, 53, of Mount Vernon, Illinois passed away at 8:34 P.M. March 24, 2018 at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon, Illinois. She was born December 19, 1964 in Jefferson County, Illinois to Walter L. and Tawanna 'T.J.' (Ballard) Fitzjerrells. She married George Floyd on June 19, 2003. They were blessed with 15 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on March 3, 2018.

Keyma is survived by her mother, Tawanna 'T.J.' Higginson and husband, Stan of McLeansboro, Illinois; father, Walter ‘Whitey’ Lynn Fitzjerrells of Bonnie, Illinois; children, Afton Leah Shrum and Tierney Lynn Shrum both of Woodlawn, Illinois; grandchildren, Jayden Goodwin, Tyleah Shrum, and Isaiah Shrum all of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Kobey Elkins and Isaac Knappier both of Woodlawn, Illinois; step granddaughter, Brittany Kryger of Denver, Colorado; sisters, Tanya Keene and husband, Kyle of Mount Vernon, Illinois and Chanda Koch and husband, Jay of Mount Vernon, Illinois; brothers, Brett Fitzjerrells and wife, Heather of Waltonville, Illinois and Jeremy Fitzjerrells and wife, Kacie of Mount Vernon, Illinois; step daughter, Wendi Caserotti and husband, Phil of Mount Vernon, Illinois; and nieces and nephews, Ashli Robinson, Traser Sheeler, Shayln Koch, Eli Koch, Keaton Koch, Braden Fitzjerrells, Raeghan Fitzjerrells, and Ethan Fitzjerrells.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Floyd; grandparents, Melvin and Vivian Ballard and Kern and Ione Fitzjerrells; and step granddaughter, Emma Caserotti.

Keyma had many friends and family who she loved deeply. She led a full and beautiful life. She loved the beach, entertaining friends and family, and hosting traditional summer pool parties.  She was a loving mother, daughter, grandmother, aunt, and sister. Keyma had a huge heart and loved her family fiercely. She was full of life, leaving an impression in every life she entered. She would leave people feeling loved and special even in just a small way. She loved her dog, Queen and made her life as meaningful and full as she did everyone else. She will be deeply missed and remain in our hearts always and forever.

Visitation: 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. Funeral Service: 11:00 A.M. Friday, March 30, 2018 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois with Pastor Kent Jackson officiating. Interment: Saint Mary Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Illinois. Memorials: The Emma Caserotti Scholarship Fund or to The Humane Society.
