Kenneth W. Gowler, 65, of Mount Vernon, Illinois passed away at 2:48 A.M. September 12, 2018 at his residence. He was born December 4, 1952 in Mount Vernon to the late Floyd Edwin and Mary Ellen (Milliner) Gowler. Kenneth married Patty (Jinks) Gowler on August 24, 1970 in Belle Rive, Illinois. They were blessed with 48 years of marriage.
In addition to his wife, Kenneth is survived by his sons, Tyson Gowler and wife, Terri of Salem and Travis Gowler and wife, Dana of Mount Vernon; grandchildren, Talya Gowler of Salem, Thayn Gowler of Salem, Chase Gowler of Mount Vernon, and Sadie Gowler of Salem; siblings, Gary Gowler and wife, Jessica of Mount Vernon, Kevin Eugene Gowler of Texico, and Angela Ellen Shreve and husband, Rob of Fairfield; and several nieces and nephews.
Kenneth worked as a truck driver until his retirement. He attended Panther Fork Baptist Church and most of all, loved spending time with his family. Kenneth was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
Per Kenneth’s request, he was cremated. A Graveside Service will be held Monday, September 17, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at East Salem Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Illinois with Reverend John Ashby officiating. Inurnment will follow. Memorials may be made in Kenneth’s honor to Panther Fork Cemetery.
