Joan O. Ellmaker, 85, of Mount Vernon, Illinois went to meet Jesus at 7:36 P.M. May 29, 2019 at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital. She was born June 7, 1933 in Kansas City, Kansas to the late Walter Douglas and Valice (Townsend) Beets. Joan first married Robert "Scovie Duck" Robertson. After his passing, she later married James Ellmaker. He also preceded her in death.
Joan is survived by her children, Betty Barker and husband, Randy of Mount Vernon and Danny Robertson of Centralia; grandchildren, Jeremy Dudley, Melissa Blumeyer and husband, Joe, and Adam Barker; great-grandchildren, Gabriel Blumeyer and Elisabeth Blumeyer; and several nieces and nephews, including John Somers and Cindy Hollon.
In addition to her parents and husbands, Joan was preceded in death by her sons, Dale Robertson, Billy Robertson, Rex Robertson, and Ted Robertson; daughter, Bobbie Dudley; and sister, Eloise Soloman.
Joan worked as a caregiver for many years. She was a very faithful church member throughout her life. She attended the First Baptist Church of Woodlawn for many years before attending a Baptist church in Seminole, Florida. Joan was dearly loved will be missed by all who knew her.
Per Joan’s request, there will be no public services held.
