James Leo Campbell, 88, of Sierra Vista, AZ., passed Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at his residence.
Jim was born in Mt. Vernon, IL on August 24, 1929, the son of the late Clyde and Marybelle (Campbell) Clifton.
Jim is survived by three sons, Kevin L. Campbell and wife Donna of Sierra Vista, Jeffery S. Campbell and wife Sally of Shelton, CT., and Jason L. Campbell of Alexandria, VA; two grandchildren, James E.Campbell and wife Amy of Sierra Vista, and Pamela J. Campbell of St. Joseph, MO.
In addition to his parents, his wife Esther A. (Bellus) Campbell and brother Delbert Clifton preceded him in death.
Jim served his country from 1947 to 1967 in the United States Air Force. Following retirement from the Air Force, Jim returned to Mt. Vernon where he owned and operated his own insurance agency. Upon retirement, Jim spent the last eight years in Sierra Vista, where he continued to enjoy playing golf regularly.
A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Saint Mary Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Illinois. Inurnment will follow. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Hatfield Funeral Home in Sierra Vista and Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.
