Gregory S. Jimenez, 58, of Houston, Texas passed away on March 30, 2019 in Houston, Texas. He was born June 21, 1960 in Hammond, Indiana to the late George Rude and Lois Faye (Hanley) Martin. He was lovingly raised by his mother and adoptive father, Joseph Jimenez and stepfather Calvin Martin who survives with his wife, Bridgette, in Houston, Texas.
In addition to his stepfather, Greg is survived by his sister, Jamie Spruiell and husband, Michael of Concord, California; stepsister, Amy Martin Duarte and husband Rick of DeForest, Wisconsin; nephews, Cavin Spruiell, Ellis Spruiell, and Wesley Spruiell; niece, Grace Galbraith; aunt, Donna Hooper and husband, Ron of Eldorado, Illinois; uncle, Bill Hanley and wife Teresa of Eldorado, Illinois; and aunt, Codie Peterson of Centralia, Illinois.
In addition to his mother, birth-father, and adoptive-father, Mr. Jimenez was preceded in death by his brother, Roger Cavin Jimenez; uncle, Donnie Hanley; and aunt, Lodi Greenwalt and husband Ron.
Greg was licensed as a CPA in May 1986 and spent the majority of his successful career with Calvin Martin & Company, PLLC, where he rose to the level of Partner. He was an accomplished marathon runner, enjoyed NASCAR, soccer games, classic movies and TV shows such as Star Trek, drinking Pepsi, and spending time with his Labrador Retriever, Roxy. He was an avid Notre Dame, Purdue, Chicago Cubs and Dallas Cowboys fan. He was dearly loved and respected and will be missed by all who knew him.
A Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 P.M. Saturday, April 13, 2019 at Heights Funeral Home in Houston, Texas. A Graveside Service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at Bethel Memorial Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Illinois with Mr. Marty Mills officiating. Interment will follow. Memorials, in Greg’s loving memory, may be made to the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation.
