Glenna Norine Johnson

August 24, 1929 ~ December 30, 2018 (age 89)

Glenna Norine Johnson, 89, of Mount Vernon, Illinois passed away at 1:50 P.M. December 30, 2018 at Mount Vernon Countryside Manor. She was born August 24, 1929 in Mount Vernon to the late Luther Wesley and Ethel Jane (McLaughlin) Moore. Glenna married Robert Edward Johnson on October 12, 1946. They were blessed with 58 years of marriage until he preceded her in death on June 11, 2004.

Glenna is survived by her daughters, Jane Reid and husband, John of Mosinee, Wisconsin and Beth Davis of Mount Vernon, Illinois; sons, Robert E. Johnson of Mount Vernon, Illinois and David Johnson and wife, Cheryl of Athens, Alabama; grandchildren, John Reid, Jr. and wife, Cailin of Burnsville, Minnesota, Kelly (Reid) Carlson and husband, Kevin of Blanchardville, Wisconsin, Matt Davis of New Bern, North Carolina, Mark Johnson and wife, Katie of Krum, Texas, Rachel (Johnson) Edwards of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Christina (Johnson) Weatherly and husband, Andrew of Scurry, Texas, Amanda Johnson of Memphis, Tennessee, and Melissa Johnson of Athens, Alabama; great-grandchildren, Scarlett Reid, Vivian Carlson, Walter Carlson, Aubrey Johnson, Abigail Johnson, Karter Lansdowne, Cooper Edwards, Cohen Edwards, Knox Johnson, Danielle (Hass) Jones and husband, Shawn, Austin Weatherly, Kylie Weatherly, Danny Weatherly, Kaity Weatherly, and Alyssa Weatherly; sister, Treva Satterfield of Mount Vernon, Illinois; brother-in-law, Bill Johnson and wife, Ginger of Las Vegas, Nevada; and several nieces and nephews.

Glenna worked as a homemaker. She was a member of Southwest Christian Church in Mount Vernon where she taught Sunday school and vacation bible school. Glenna enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon with Mr. Randy Steele officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Independent Order of Oddfellows Cemetery in Woodlawn, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the Southwest Christian Church.
