Frank Kohut, Jr., 79, of Nason, Illinois passed away at 11:22 A.M. August 24, 2018 at Evelyn's House in Saint Louis, Missouri. He was born March 7, 1939 in Nason to the late Frank and Katie (Bicanich) Kohut, Sr. Frank married Diana (Talley) Kohut on June 30, 1978 in Mount Vernon, Illinois. They were blessed with 40 years of marriage.
In addition to his wife, Frank is survived by his daughters, Melanie Kohut of Decatur, Illinois, Lorna Wilson of Davenport, Iowa, and Lynn Beattie and husband, Rob of Saint Charles, Missouri; grandchildren, Sabin Kohut of Pinckneyville, Illinois, Cameron Wilson of Davenport, Iowa, and Anthony Wilson of Davenport, Iowa; sister, Elizabeth Wagner and husband, Leonard of Nason, Illinois; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his parents-in-law, Herbert and Martha Talley.
Frank served in the United States Marine Corps services from 1959 until 1963. He then worked as a coal miner for 30 years. Franks greatest joy was spending time with his family. He was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
A Graveside Service will be held Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens Chapel in Woodlawn, Illinois with Chaplain Ernie Collins officiating. Full Military Honors will be held by the American Legion Post #141. Inurnment will follow. A celebration of life will be held after the graveside service at Bubba’s Too in Nason, Illinois for a casual fish fry. Per Frank’s request, the family asks that you wear casual attire to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kohut Family, in care of Diana Kohut.
