Franklin "Frank" D. Braden, Also known as “Frank the Tank”, 83, of Bluford, Illinois passed away at 9:35 P.M. October 28, 2018 at his residence in Bluford, Illinois. He was born September 10, 1935 in Waltonville, Illinois to the late Bernard Braden and Opal May Phelps. He married Linda Lee Jeffers on October 14, 1956 in Ashley, Illinois. They were blessed with 62 years of marriage until he preceded her in death.
In addition to his wife, Linda Braden, Frank is survived by his children, Robin Glover and husband, Robby of Ashley, Illinois, Franklin Scott and wife, Karen Braden of Ashley, Illinois, Tamie Lee Braden and special friend, Marty of Ashley, Illinois, Danny Braden and wife, Kellie of Bluford, Illinois, Debbie Ray and husband, David of Fairfield, Illinois, James Braden and wife, Lynda of Bluford, Illinois; primary care giver and daughter, Misty Braden and fiancé, Danny White of Bluford, Illinois; 58 grandchildren and great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; two sisters, Norma Jean Curtis of Mount Vernon, Illinois and Terri Braden Simon of Grafton, Illinois; and granddaughter, Jessica Dolgner who was by his side until he left this life.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Clayton Braden; sister, Bernadine Edmonds; and 5 grandchildren.
Frank proudly served his country in the United States Marines. He was always surrounded by his loved ones and his family. He was a fan of the Rams Football team and the Saint Louis Cardinals baseball team. Frank loved hunting, fishing, and the outdoors. In 1953, he started the Braden Complete Tree Service. Frank was a member of the American Legion Post #141 and the VFW Post #1376. Mostly, he enjoyed spending time with his family and will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
