Dorothy Dyel Tindle, 87, of Mount Vernon, Illinois passed away at 9:15 AM October 3, 2019 at Green Tree at Mount Vernon. She was born July 24, 1932 in White County, Illinois to the late George and Bernice (Allen) Kirk. Dorothy first married Otto Max Dyel on December 31, 1950 in Mount Vernon, Illinois. He preceded her in death on November 19, 1983. She later married Ray Randall and he preceded her in death in 1995. Dorothy later married Robert Lee Tindle. He preceded her in death on March 31, 2013.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Susan Stutts and husband, David of Mount Vernon, Illinois; grandchildren, Michael Stutts and wife, Tonya and Amy Stutts, all of Mount Vernon, Illinois; great-grandchildren, Haley Myers, Isaiah Myers, Alyssa Myers, Brandon Stutts, Aly Stutts, and Koby Stutts; siblings, Linda House of Opdyke, Illinois, Evelyn Drennan of Mount Vernon, Illinois, and George Kirk, Jr. and wife, Sharon of Benton, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husbands, Dorothy was preceded in death by her son, David Dyel; one brother; and one stillborn sister.
Dorothy was the owner and operator of Dyel Transportation for many years. She was a member of the Mount Vernon Moose Lodge, American Legion Auxiliary, Red Hat Society and was a chairperson of Democratic Women. Dorothy was also a longtime member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Mount Vernon. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Dorothy was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
A Visitation will be held Monday, October 7, 2019 from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Paul Widicus officiating. Interment will follow at Independent Order of Oddfellows Cemetery in Woodlawn, Illinois. Memorials may be made in Dorothy’s honor to the charity of the donor’s choice.
