Doris June (Stewart) England, born to Paul Glendon and Clara (Hays) Stewart in rural McClellen Township on Saturday, October 11, 1930 passed away in Mount Vernon on Monday, February 05, 2018. Mrs. England graduated from Mount Vernon Township High School in 1948 and married Charles A. England in June of 1948. They shared 58 years of marriage prior to his death on March 9, 2007.
Mrs. England is survived by her daughter, Paula England and husband, Dr. William Donaldson of Dongola, Illinois; her brother Dwight Stewart and wife, Martha Sue; sister, Kay Puckett and husband Milton; brother David Stewart and wife, Connee; as well as sister-in-law, Glenda Kohute of Nason; and brother-in-law, Donald England and wife, Phyllis of Mount Vernon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Kenneth R. Stewart; sister, Glenda Lunn; sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Phillips; and brothers-in-law, William, Allen, Jess, Bob, and Jerry England.
Mrs. England retired from General Motors after 30 years of service in management. She was active in Business and Professional Women’s Club, Junior Women’s Club, as well as Bridge Club where she claimed to have played badly. Doris and her husband enjoyed many winters in Florida and trips to the west and to the east coast. She was a member of Central Christian Church in Mount Vernon for many years.
Graveside Services will precede burial at Old Shiloh Cemetery on 1:00 P.M. Thursday, February 8, 2018.
Memorials may be given to the Old Shiloh Cemetery Association.
