Donald Ray England, 76, of Mount Vernon, Illinois passed away at 2:20 P.M. November 4, 2019 at Crossroads Community Hospital. He was born May 29, 1943 in Jefferson County, Illinois, the son of the late William Burton and Mary Margaret (Chamness) England. Donald married Phyllis B. (Withrow) England on February 18, 1968. They were blessed with 51 years of marriage.
In addition to his wife, Donald is survived by his sons, Jesse England, Jerry England, Charles England and wife, Christal, all of Mount Vernon, and Cody England and girlfriend, Kennedy Hausman of Waltonville, Illinois; grandchildren, Levi England of Mount Vernon, Tessa England and boyfriend, Doug Rhoads of Alton, Illinois, Molley England, Alex England, Tyson England, and Candice England, all of Mount Vernon; great-grandchildren, Aaliyah England of Mount Vernon and Marcie Rhoads of Alton; sister, Glenda Khoute of Nason; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his son, William Glen England; six brothers; and one sister.
Donald was a member of the Laborers’ International Union of North American Local 1197 and East Side Baptist Church. He was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
A Visitation will be held Thursday, November 7, 2019 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. The Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 P.M. with Curtis Sweeny officiating. Interment will follow at Old Shiloh Cemetery in Mount Vernon. Memorials may be made to the England Family, in care of Phyllis England.
