David M Reeves

October 28, 1941 ~ March 14, 2019 (age 77)

David M. Reeves, 77, of Mount Vernon, Illinois passed away at 6:57 A.M. March 14, 2019 at his residence in Mount Vernon, Illinois. He was born October 28, 1941 in Mount Vernon, Illinois to the late Vernice and Marjorie Sue (Harpole) Reeves . He married Shirley Jean Elliston on December 20, 1959 at First United Methodist Church in Mount Vernon, Illinois. They were blessed with nearly 56 years of marriage before she preceded him in death on May 4, 2015.

 

David is survived by his three sons, Tyler Reeves and wife, Melissa of Bluford, Illinois, Shane Reeves and wife, Daphne of Mount Vernon, Illinois, John Reeves and wife, Tricia of Mount Vernon, Illinois; eleven grandchildren, Derek Reeves and wife, Ashleigh of Marion, Illinois, Lindsey Reeves of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Tony Reeves and wife, Michelle of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Michael Reeves of Marion, Illinois, Logan Reeves of Marion, Illinois, Braden Reeves of Marion, Illinois, Brendan Brooks of Eddyville, Kentucky, Kayla Webster and husband, Jesse of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Alaina Cox and husband, Matthew of Woodlawn, Illinois, Clayton Reeves and wife, Libbey of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Dylan Reeves of Saint Louis, Missouri; and seven great grandchildren, Caroline Webster of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Eliza Webster of Mount Vernon, Illinois and Everly Reeves of Mount Vernon, Illinois, William Webster of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Julia Webster of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Grayson Cox of Woodlawn, Illinois, and Blaze Reeves of Mount Vernon, Illinois; brother, Verner Earls of Mount Vernon, Illinois; sister, Deanna Diel and husband, Ron of Carterville, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.

 

David was preceded in death by his parents, Vernice and Marjorie Sue (Harploe) Reeves and wife, Shirley Jean Elliston.

 

David worked as a construction superintendent. He will be missed by all who knew him.

 

Per David’s request, he will be cremated and there will be no services held. A private family inurnment will be held at Knob Prairie Cemetery in Waltonville, Illinois. Memorials may be made to Knob prairie Cemetery in Waltonville, Illinois.
