Carole Lynn Lynam, 50, of Christopher, Illinois, formerly of Mount Vernon, Illinois, lost her battle with cancer at 9:23 P.M. October 30, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born April 22, 1968 in Orange County, California to Robert Carl “Bob” Piercy and Patricia Ann “Pat” (Frazier) Akers. Carole married Keith Allen Lynam on September 5, 2003 in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. They were blessed with 15 years of marriage.
In addition to her husband, Carole is survived by her mother, Patricia Akers of Mount Vernon, Illinois; children, Tiffany Pitman and boyfriend, Frank Skalski and April (Pitman) Szarek and husband, Andrew, all of Mount Vernon, Illinois; step-children, Shauntel (Lynam) Tobin and husband, Delon and Jeffery Lynam and fiancèe, Meranda Schuchard; step-grandchildren, Gabriella Tobin, McKenzie Tobin, Jaiden Tobin, Madison Tobin, and Dakota Lynam; sister, Tricia Piercy of Mount Vernon, Illinois; niece, Brittany (Wingfield) Miles and husband, Chris of Michigan; best friend, Tracy Johnston of Bluford, Illinois; and mother-in-law, Marilyn Lynam-Rand and husband, Franklin of Bakersfield, California.
Carole was preceded in death by her father, Robert Piercy and grandparents.
Carole graduated from Mount Vernon Township High School in 1986. She graduated from Paul Mitchell Cosmetology School in 2008 and started her own mobile salon, Salon Xpress in 2013. Carole was employed at Target in Marion until failing health.
Carole’s favorite things in life included her family, her koi pond, collecting elephants, and Halloween. She was such a Halloween buff that her yard was decorated for the holiday year-round. She even ran Mister Spooky’s Haunted House for several years.
Per Carole’s wishes, she will be cremated and a Greeting of Family and Friends will be held on Sunday, November 4, 2018 from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois.
