March 13, 1981 ~ November 25, 2018 (age 37)

Brandon Matthew Kennedy, 37, of Marshall, Illinois, formerly of Mount Vernon passed away at 7:16 A.M. November 25, 2018 at University Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born March 13, 1981 in Mount Vernon, Illinois to Kathy (Kirgan) Kennedy and Carl Kennedy.

Brandon is survived by his mother, Kathy Kennedy and companion, Dan Mullen; father, Carl Kennedy and companion, Lisa Hart; grandparents, Mary Lemay, Janice and husband, Billy O’Neal, Bill Kennedy, and step-grandmother, Linda Kennedy; stepsister, Brittney; aunts, Debbie Powell, Brenda Lumpkins and husband, Frank, and Belinda Kirgan and special friend, Diane; stepbrother, Tony Pendelton and wife, Pam; cousins, Rickey Powell, Kelley Christenberry, Nathan Powell, Briley Kirgan, Zachary Lumpkins, and Joshua Lumpkins.

Brandon was preceded in death by his grandfather, Sylvan Kirgan; and step-grandfather, Jerry Lemay.

Brandon was a member of the New Rivers Church and Great Banquet Community Retreat in Marshall, Illinois. He was the Assistant Youth Leader to the Anchored Student Ministry. Brandon graduated from Webber Township High School. He just began his student ministries and was involved with the Illinois Student Ministries through the Global University. He loved life and children, hunting, fishing, farming, Nascar, Motorcycles, and golfing. Brandon was always full of joy and had a passion for helping children. The family asks that donations go to Toys for Kids in Mount Vernon, Illinois to continue his legacy of love for children or to the New Rivers Church. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him.

A Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois with a Celebration of Life Service following with Mr. Marty Mills officiating. Memorials may be made in Brandon's honor to Toys for Kids in Mount Vernon, Illinois or to the New Rivers Church in Marshall, Illinois.
