Betty L. Dulaney, 89, of Mount Vernon, Illinois passed away at 10:45 P.M. May 25, 2019 at her residence in Mount Vernon, Illinois. She was born November 8, 1929 in Mount Vernon, Illinois to the late Gilbert Davis and Anna J. Shehorn. She married Preston E. Dulaney on January 16, 1947 in Jefferson County, Illinois. They were blessed with 48 years until he preceded her in death in 1995.
Betty is survived by her three daughters, Donna Liddle of San Diego, California, Janet Young of Casa Grande, Arizona, and Tracy Cockrum of Waltonville, Illinois; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one expected great-great grandchild; and one sister, Barbara Nuxoll.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, Leslie Davis, Charles Davis and Norman Davis; one sister, Doris Short; one grandson, Brian Young; and son-in-law, Gary Young.
Betty loved flowers and decorating. She was an avid artist and has a painting on display at C.E. Brehm Memorial Public Library in Mount Vernon. Betty and her husband owned and operated a Texico Service Station in Mount Vernon for many years. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
A Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Hughey Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Hughey Funeral Home with Bishop Randy Wakland officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the Cedarhurst Center for the Arts or to SSM Health At Home Hospice.
