Alfred Lester Donoho, Jr., 91, of Mount Vernon, Illinois passed away at 4:30 A.M. June 27, 2018 at Mount Vernon Health Care Center. He was born March 20, 1927 in Streator, Illinois to
the late Alfred Elester and Gertrude (McDaniel) Donoho, Sr. Alfred married Dorothy Wilson in 1954 in Wichita, Kansas. They were blessed with 64 years of marriage.
In addition to his wife, Alfred is survived by his sons, Paul Donoho of Mahomet, Illinois, Roger Donoho and wife, Cathy of Tolono, Illinois, and Mark Donoho and significant other, Lori of Rantoul, Illinois; daughters, Debra Dees and husband, Ernest of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Delores Kocher of Wichita, Kansas, Donna McClure and husband, Chuck of Wichita, Kansas, Vivian Timmons of Irvington, Illinois, and Brenda Hale and husband, Chuck of Nashville, Illinois; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Alfred was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Alfred proudly served his country in the United States Army. He worked for many years as a cement mixer operator for Nelson Concrete. Alfred was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
There will be no public services held.
Memorials may be made in Alfred’s honor to the Alzheimer’s Association.
