Albert L. "Ab" Garner, 90, of Wayne City, Illinois passed away at 8:25 A.M. July 30, 2018 at Doctors Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Salem, Illinois. He was born June 12, 1928 in Wayne City, Illinois to Abraham Lincoln and Nora Jane (Goldman) Garner. He married Joanne Woods on July 24, 1948 in Farifield, Illinois.  She preceded him in death on February 8, 2011.

Ab is survived by his two sons, Stan Garner of Fairfield, Illinois and Matt Garner and wife, Paula of Simpsonville, Kentucky; daughter, Angie Koehler and husband, Jim of Salem, Illinois; daughter-in-law, Marti Garner of Fairfield, Illinois; grandchildren, Cort Koehler and wife Kristyn of Saint Ann, Missouri, Adrian Koehler of Los Angeles, California, Joshua Garner and wife, Alison of Limestone, Tennessee, Trenton Garner and wife, Michelle of Farifield, Mary Ellen Everett of Sarasota, Florida, Illinois, Sarah Grace Garner of Simpsonville, Kentucky, and Emma Addison Garner of Simpsonville, Kentucky; great grandchildren, Abram Koehler, Quinn Koehler, Scout Koehler, Charli Koehler, Melissa Ellen Garner, Bryce Garner, and Olivia Garner; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Garner was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers, and sisters.

Ab worked in maintenance for the Trunkline Gas Company.  He was a member of the Wayne City Baptist Church, was a lifetime member of the Masons, and sang in many Southern Gospel groups around the area, of which his favorite was his family group, including his wife, Joanne, two sons, and daughter.  He loved to fish, golf, and garden.  He was dearly loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.

Visitation: 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Wayne City Baptist Church in Wayne City, Illinois.

Funeral Service: 10:00 A.M. Friday, August 3, 2018 at Wayne City Baptist Church in Wayne City, Illinois with Pastor Brian Fuller officiating. 

Interment: Thomason Cemetery in Wayne City, Illinois.
