Agnes Elaine Tobin, 77, of Mount Vernon, Illinois passed away at 2:08 P.M. June 6, 2018 at the Residential Living Center. She was born March 13, 1941 in Hammond, Indiana to the late William and Wanda (Lorek) Haake. Agnes married Bernard A. Tobin on August 8, 1964. They had just celebrated their 48th year of marriage before he preceded her in death on August 31, 2012.
Agnes is survived by her sons, Todd Tobin of Mount Vernon, Jason Tobin and fiancè, Viviana Ceballos of Evansville, Indiana, and Aaron Tobin and wife, Amanda of Mount Vernon; grandchildren, Zachary Tobin, Alexander Tobin, Danicah Tobin, Bentley Tobin, and Joseph Marco; brother, Joe Tobin of Utah; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Agnes was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Jean Korczak.
Agnes was a longtime member of Saint Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Agnes was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
A Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 12, 2018 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. A Rosary Service will follow at 7:00 P.M. The Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at Saint Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Mount Vernon with The Very Reverend Father John Iffert officiating. Interment will follow at Saint Mary Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Illinois. Memorials may be made in Agnes’ honor to Saint Mary School.
