Edward Louis Kubicki, 93, of Mount Vernon, Illinois passed away at 12:17 A.M. June 18, 2019 at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon. He was born August 13, 1925 in DuBois, Illinois to the late Ned and Francis (Jaskula) Kubicki. Edward married Agnes A. (Majewski) Kubicki on September 27, 1947 in DuBois. They were blessed with nearly 72 years of marriage.
In addition to his wife, Agnes, Edward is survived by his sons, Dennis G. Kubicki and wife, Renee of Scheller, Illinois and Duane G. Kubicki and wife, Angie of Mount Vernon, Illinois; grandchildren, Selina Jo Craven and husband, T.J. of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Chasity Stewart and husband, Sean of Benton, Illinois, and Chelsea Neale and husband, Wes of Almo, Kentucky; sister, Pauline Kania of DuBois, Illinois; great-grandchildren, Hadley Craven, Easton Neale, Caylee Stewart, and Caden Stewart; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Edward was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
Edward proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He worked as a service manager for 15 years at W.G. Motors Company. In 1964, he was the National Service Manager Chairman of Ford Motor Company. Edward was a member of the American Legion Post #141 and VFW Post #1376. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. Edward was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
A visitation will be held Thursday, June 20, 2019 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Rosary will begin at 7:30 P.M. A second visitation will be held Friday, June 21, 2019 from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. at Saint Mary Imacculate Conception Catholic Church in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Funeral Mass will be held at Friday, June 21, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at Saint Mary Immaculate Conception Church with The Very Reverend Father John Iffert officiating. Interment will follow at Saint Mary Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Illinois. The American Legion Post #141 will conduct Full Military Honors. Memorials may be made to the Saint Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church or Saint Mary School.
