Charles Richard England, 72, of Flagler Beach, Florida passed away at 7: 25 A.M. June 14, 2019 at Advent Health Hospice in Palm Coast, Florida. He was born December 20, 1946 in Mount Vernon, Illinois to the late Allen England and Nadine Lovin. He married Mary Dowell on December 11, 2007 in Fulton County, Illinois. They were blessed with nearly twelve years of marriage.
In addition to his wife, Richard is survived by his daughters, Kimberly Renee England of Palm Coast, Florida and Vicki Lee and husband, Ronnie of Bonnie, Illinois; brothers, Steve England and wife, Brenda of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Billy England of Mount Vernon, Illinois; sisters, Carolyn Jones and husband, Bill of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Darlene Sherman and husband, Brian of Mount Vernon, Illinois; stepdaughters, JoAnna Conley-Flota and husband, Michael of Palm Coast, Florida and Elizabeth Christie and husband, Mark of Ashland City, Tennessee; granddaughters, Makayla, Briley, and Cassidy Jo and numerous nieces and nephews .
Richard served in the U.S Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He worked as a Community Service Coordinator for the 2nd Judicial Circuit Court System in Jefferson County as well as a Child Advocate for the County/City School Systems. Richard served on the Jefferson County Board as a chairman for several years. He also served as a democrat precinct committee man and the democrat party chairman in Jefferson County. Richard was a life member of the Mount Vernon Elks Lodge #819 and also a member of the VFW Post #1376 in Mount Vernon, Illinois. He was a volunteer hunting guide for H.O.O.A.H.
A Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Thursday, June 20, 2019 at Hughey Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will follow with Reverend Jerry Trotter officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Illinois. Members of the Mount Vernon American Legion Post #141 will conduct Full Military Honors at the cemetery. Memorials may be made to the H.O.O.A.H.
